LeoVegas built its name in Sweden as the “King of Mobile”, a casino designed for phones first, and since 2022 it has belonged to MGM Resorts International. It is a licensed operator in every market we cover: the UK Gambling Commission, Sweden’s Spelinspektionen and Spain’s DGOJ all regulate it, and it runs a licensed site in Ontario. It does not take crypto. This review looks at LeoVegas in October 2026: its licences and markets, what the welcome offers are worth after Britain capped wagering at 10x, the casino, live casino and sportsbook, payments and withdrawal speed, its record with regulators, MGM’s plans for the business, and what players say about it.
- Licensed in all its markets: LeoVegas Gaming PLC holds UK Gambling Commission account 39198 with an active remote casino and betting licence, and LeoVegas is licensed in Sweden, Spain and Ontario. It opted out of Alberta’s new market in 2026.
- Welcome offers differ by country: in Britain, 50 free spins with no wagering for a £10 deposit and £10 of play; in Sweden, up to 4,000 kr plus 100 spins; in Spain, sports profit boosts and a casino offer. Check your own account before depositing.
- Withdrawals are fairly quick: UK terms say approved withdrawals usually arrive within one to three business days, with per-withdrawal caps of £8,000 for cards and £4,000 for PayPal.
- Regulatory record is mixed: a €500,000 Dutch fine in December 2025 for duty-of-care failures, but a Swedish court overturned an SEK 8 million fine against sister brand Roar Vegas in June 2026.
- Ownership is stable: People Inc. withdrew its $18 billion bid for MGM in September 2026, so LeoVegas stays inside MGM’s digital division, which grew revenue 20% in the second quarter.

Our verdict on LeoVegas
LeoVegas earns its score on the basics: strict licences, a polished mobile product, a large casino and live casino, a sportsbook on the same account, and withdrawal terms that are clearer than most. The British welcome offer is modest but honest, with free spins that carry no wagering. Behind it sits MGM Resorts, one of the largest gambling companies in the world, which has kept investing in the brand. That puts LeoVegas high in our licensed casino rankings.
It falls short of the top in a few places. There is no poker room, the sportsbook is less deep than specialists such as bet365, and player reviews are split, with complaints about frozen accounts and verification after wins. Regulators in the Netherlands and Sweden have also pulled it up over how quickly it acts on signs of harm, although one Swedish fine was overturned in court in 2026.
LeoVegas suits players in Great Britain, Sweden, Spain or Ontario who want a regulated, mobile-first casino with a sportsbook on the side and clear withdrawal limits. It is not a crypto casino. If crypto payments matter more to you than regulatory protection, compare our crypto casino rankings and read the licence notes carefully.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, Spelinspektionen, the DGOJ and Ontario’s regulators.
- Mobile-first apps and site that remain among the smoothest in the market.
- British welcome spins carry no wagering on winnings.
- Published per-method withdrawal limits and a one-to-three-day payout window in the UK.
- Large live casino with exclusive tables for VIP players.
- Backed by MGM Resorts, with stable ownership after the 2026 takeover bid was dropped.
What to watch
- No poker room in any of its markets.
- Trustpilot reviews are split, with about half rating it one star.
- Regulatory penalties in the UK (2022) and the Netherlands (2025) over player protection.
- Swedish and Spanish welcome bonuses carry heavier wagering than British offers.
- Withdrawal caps per transaction mean big wins are paid in several parts.
- No crypto deposits or withdrawals.
Licences, ownership and regulatory record
LeoVegas was founded in Sweden in 2011 and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm before MGM Resorts bought it in 2022 for about $607 million. The main licence-holding company, LeoVegas Gaming PLC, is based in Malta. The UK Gambling Commission register shows its remote licence active, covering casino since 2014, betting since 2016 and bingo since 2018. The group also runs other brands, including Royal Panda, Expekt, GoGoCasino and the British BetMGM site, which shares LeoVegas technology. Our BetMGM review covers that sister brand.
| Market | Regulator | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Great Britain | UK Gambling Commission | LeoVegas Gaming PLC, account 39198, active October 2026 |
| Sweden | Spelinspektionen | Casino and betting licences; group sportsbook licence for GoGoCasino added April 2026 |
| Spain | DGOJ | Casino and sports betting for verified Spanish residents |
| Ontario | AGCO and iGaming Ontario | Live since April 2022 |
| Alberta | Not licensed | LeoVegas paused sign-ups and stayed out of the July 2026 launch |
Fines and court cases
In 2022 the UK Gambling Commission fined LeoVegas £1.32 million over customer protection and anti-money-laundering failings. In December 2025 the Netherlands Gambling Authority fined it €500,000 for failing in its duty of care between October 2023 and May 2024, finding violations in every player file it reviewed, including a player who lost tens of thousands of euros in a short period. In the other direction, in June 2026 the Administrative Court in Linköping overturned an SEK 8 million fine that Sweden’s regulator had imposed on Roar Vegas, a LeoVegas brand, finding no sufficiently clear breach of duty of care. The UK register showed no regulatory action against LeoVegas Gaming PLC’s current account when we checked in October 2026. Our licence guide explains how regulators compare.
MGM, LeoVegas and the business in 2026
LeoVegas sits inside MGM Digital, MGM’s international online division, which is reported separately from BetMGM, MGM’s US joint venture. In the second quarter of 2026 MGM Digital’s revenue rose 20% to $196 million, helped by online casino growth, although the segment was still loss-making. The division also includes MGM’s online operations in Brazil.
MGM itself was the subject of a takeover approach in 2026. People Inc., formerly IAC, which already owns about 27% of MGM, proposed in June to buy the rest at $48.30 a share, valuing MGM at about $18 billion. A special committee of independent directors reviewed the offer, and on 23 September 2026 People withdrew it, saying the deal was not coming together. MGM remains independent, and nothing has changed for LeoVegas customers.
Product changes
In 2024 LeoVegas bought the Tiger sportsbook platform from Tipico. It runs in Denmark and the Netherlands and launched in Sweden in April 2026 with a new sportsbook licence for GoGoCasino. LeoVegas has not said when or whether its main British and Spanish sportsbooks will move to Tiger.
The UK 40% gaming duty
Britain’s Remote Gaming Duty rose from 21% to 40% of gross gaming yield on 1 April 2026, and remote betting duty will rise from 15% to 25% in April 2027. LeoVegas’s British brands pay the same rate as every other licensed casino. Players do not pay the duty, but across the market it has led to smaller promotions and tighter marketing budgets.
Where LeoVegas is available
- Great Britain: casino, live casino and sportsbook under the UK Gambling Commission, with GAMSTOP checks. See our UK market page.
- Sweden: a Spelinspektionen-licensed site, where all gambling sites must offer deposit limits and honour Spelpaus self-exclusion. Swedish rules allow a bonus only on the first occasion you play. See our Sweden market page.
- Spain: a DGOJ-licensed site for verified Spanish residents, with casino and sports betting. See our Spain market page.
- Canada: licensed in Ontario since 2022. LeoVegas opted out of Alberta’s regulated market in June 2026 to focus on Ontario. See our Canada market page.
LeoVegas also operates in other regulated European markets. If it does not serve your country, do not use a VPN or false details: licensed operators check location and identity, and accounts opened that way can be closed with winnings withheld. Our coverage pages list the brands that serve each market.
Welcome offers by market
Welcome offers depend on where you live, and 2026 sources do not always agree on the details. This table shows the most consistent terms we found.
| Market | Offer described in 2026 sources | Key terms |
|---|---|---|
| Great Britain | 50 free spins at 10p each on Big Bass Splash | Deposit £10 or more within 7 days of registering and play it once on eligible casino games; no wagering on spin winnings; spins expire after 3 days (October 2026) |
| Sweden | 100% match up to 4,000 kr plus 100 free spins | Comparison sites in 2026 quoted 35x wagering on the bonus; only one welcome bonus is allowed by law |
| Spain (sports) | Two 100% profit boosts up to €100 each, one pre-match and one in-play | Minimum €10 deposit within 14 days, minimum odds 1.80, 7 days to use (September 2026) |
| Spain (casino) | Deposit match described as up to €200 | Rollover quoted between 20x and 50x depending on the promotion; check current terms |
The British 10x cap
Since 19 January 2026, UK Gambling Commission rules cap wagering at 10 times the bonus amount and ban offers that mix product types, such as sports bets that unlock casino spins. The British LeoVegas offer already sits inside that rule because winnings from the spins are paid as cash. The £10 you deposit must be played once, and table and live games do not count towards that.
You deposit £10 and play it once on slots. At a typical 96% RTP, the expected cost of that £10 of play is about £0.40. You then receive 50 spins at 10p, a face value of £5; on a slot returning around 96%, their expected value is about £4.80, paid as cash with no wagering. The net expected value is roughly £4.40. Results on individual spins vary widely, and none of this makes gambling profitable over time.
Swedish and Spanish offers are larger but carry wagering, so their real value is lower than the headline. Our bonuses guide shows how to work it out, and the bonus hub compares current offers.
Casino and live casino
LeoVegas’s game count depends on the market. UK reviews in 2026 quote anywhere from about 2,000 to more than 4,000 titles, with Spanish comparisons putting the Spanish lobby above 1,000. Slots come from the major studios, including Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, NetEnt and Big Time Gaming, with progressive jackpots and a run of LeoVegas exclusives. Always check the RTP in the game information panel, because studios release several versions of popular slots. Our RTP guide explains why it matters.
Live casino
Live casino has always been a LeoVegas strength. Reviews count more than 200 live tables in the UK, mostly from Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, with roulette, blackjack, baccarat and game shows, plus VIP tables. The VIP programme is invitation-only and adds exclusive tables, tournaments and an account manager. Live games do not count towards the British welcome offer.
Mobile
The apps and mobile site remain the core of the brand: fast to load, easy to navigate and consistent across casino and sports. Safer-gambling settings sit in the same account menu as the cashier, which makes limits easy to find.
Sportsbook and poker
The LeoVegas sportsbook sits on the same account and wallet as the casino in Britain, Sweden, Spain and Ontario. It covers football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, horse racing in Britain and a range of esports, with in-play betting, bet builders and cash-out. It is a solid all-rounder rather than a specialist book, and prices are worth comparing with dedicated sportsbooks before you bet. Our odds guide shows how to calculate a bookmaker’s margin, and the sportsbooks hub lists alternatives.
There is no LeoVegas poker room. If poker matters to you, 888 and Unibet both run poker alongside casino and sports.
Payments and withdrawal speed
LeoVegas is a fiat operator. In Britain you can use debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and bank transfer; credit cards are not accepted. In Spain, 2026 reviews list Apple Pay, PayPal, paysafecard, Skrill and Trustly. Swedish players typically use bank-based methods such as Trustly. Crypto is not accepted in any of these markets.
| Method (UK) | Minimum | Maximum per withdrawal | Typical time after approval |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debit card | £10 | £8,000 | 1 to 3 business days |
| Apple Pay or Google Pay | £10 | £8,000 | 1 to 3 business days |
| PayPal | £10 | £4,000 | Often same day, up to 3 business days |
| Bank transfer | £10 | £35,000 | Up to 5 business days |
Spanish reviews in September 2026 described withdrawals usually processed within 24 hours, with a €20 minimum on most methods. The main source of delay anywhere is verification: LeoVegas must confirm your identity before you withdraw and can ask for proof of funds under affordability and anti-money-laundering rules. Complete those checks early with a small withdrawal. Our deposits and withdrawals guide explains the process.
Verification, affordability checks and account security
Every LeoVegas market requires full identity checks. In Britain your name, date of birth and address are checked electronically at sign-up, and you may be asked for a photo ID or proof of address before your first withdrawal. In Sweden, sign-up usually runs through BankID, which verifies you in one step. Spanish accounts are checked against national records, and Spanish rules can hold a welcome bonus until verification is complete.
Beyond identity, LeoVegas can ask for evidence of where your money comes from, such as payslips or bank statements, once your deposits pass internal thresholds. These checks come from anti-money-laundering law and from regulators’ expectations on affordability, and the 2025 Dutch fine shows what happens when an operator acts too slowly. They are the most common cause of the “account frozen after a win” complaints in player reviews.
- Register with details that exactly match your documents.
- Upload identity documents before you need to withdraw, not after a big win.
- Use a strong, unique password and keep your email account secure.
- Only deposit from payment methods in your own name; third-party cards and wallets are rejected.
If a check is open, ask support what is missing and how long the review will take. If the answer is unclear, a formal complaint starts the clock on the regulator’s complaint process in your market.
Responsible gambling tools and helplines
LeoVegas offers deposit, loss and session limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion in every market, and it must also honour national schemes: GAMSTOP in Britain, Spelpaus in Sweden and Spain’s RGIAJ register. Swedish law requires every player to set deposit limits. The regulatory cases above are a reminder that tools only help if they are used, and if the operator acts on warning signs.
| Market | Free support | National self-exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| Great Britain | National Gambling Helpline (GamCare), 0808 8020 133, 24 hours | GAMSTOP |
| Sweden | Stödlinjen, 020-81 91 00 | Spelpaus.se |
| Spain | FEJAR, 900 200 225; jugarbien.es (DGOJ) | RGIAJ register |
| Ontario | ConnexOntario, 1-866-531-2600, 24 hours | iGaming Ontario self-exclusion |
- Set a deposit limit before your first deposit.
- Treat gambling as paid entertainment with a fixed monthly budget.
- Do not chase an invitation to the VIP programme; the extra perks never cover the extra losses.
- Use a time-out or national self-exclusion if gambling stops being fun.
Our responsible gambling guide and responsible gambling hub list more support.
Player feedback in 2026
LeoVegas scored 3.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot from about 7,600 reviews when we checked in October 2026, with around 750 in the previous year. Opinion is polarised: about a third of reviewers give five stars and about half give one. Positive reviews mention fast withdrawals and an easy app. Negative reviews describe accounts frozen for extra checks after a win, doubts about game fairness, bonus terms and live chat agents unable to resolve problems. LeoVegas replies to most negative reviews within two days, usually with a standard response.
Verification after a win is a regulatory requirement for licensed operators, not a sign of foul play, although it is frustrating. Games at LeoVegas use certified random number generators tested for each regulator. Trustpilot does not verify reviews, so treat them as trends. If you have a dispute in Britain, complain to LeoVegas first and then use its approved alternative dispute resolution provider; Sweden, Spain and Ontario have their own complaint routes.
How LeoVegas compares with other licensed brands
| Brand | Main strength | Compared with LeoVegas |
|---|---|---|
| 888 | Casino, sportsbook and poker on one account | Adds poker; weaker player reviews |
| BetMGM | MGM jackpots and UK casino | Sister brand on the same technology |
| Betsson | Nordic operator with many licences | Similar Swedish focus; stronger sportsbook heritage |
| Unibet | Casino, sports and poker | Broader product; less mobile polish |
| bet365 | Sportsbook depth and live streaming | Better for sports; LeoVegas better for casino |
For players weighing a licensed casino against an offshore crypto site such as Stake, the trade-off is protection against speed and payment choice. Our full list of reviews covers both.
