Borgata is the online brand of the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, an MGM Resorts property, and it runs entirely on BetMGM technology. Borgata Online was the first Atlantic City casino to receive a New Jersey internet gambling permit in 2013, and in July 2026 BetMGM relaunched it with a new interface and a combined rewards hub. Today it offers an online casino and poker room in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and a sportsbook in New Jersey. This review covers Borgata in October 2026: where it is legal, the current welcome offers, how MGM Rewards fits in, payments and payout speed, and when BetMGM itself or another book on our sportsbook rankings is the better pick.
- Who runs it: Borgata Online is operated by BetMGM, the 50/50 joint venture of MGM Resorts and Entain, on the same platform as BetMGM. The Atlantic City resort is owned by MGM Resorts.
- Where it is live: online casino and poker in New Jersey and Pennsylvania; the sportsbook is New Jersey only according to the October 2026 offer terms we checked.
- Welcome offers: Bet $20, Get $100 in bonus bets at the sportsbook (NJ), and a 100% casino deposit match up to $500 at 5x wagering or up to 200 bonus spins (NJ and PA), as reported in October 2026.
- Rewards: play earns Borgata Rewards points and counts towards MGM Rewards tier status, now shown together in the Rewards Hub added in July 2026.
- Payments: US dollar methods only, including PayPal, Play+, online banking and cash at the Borgata cage. No cryptocurrency. E-wallet withdrawals typically arrive in one to three business days.

Our verdict on Borgata
Borgata is best understood as BetMGM with an Atlantic City badge. You get the same reliable platform, the same regulated protections and access to MGM Rewards, wrapped in a brand with its own exclusive slots, its own welcome offers and a strong following among New Jersey players who visit the resort. The July 2026 relaunch fixed some of the dated navigation and brought bonuses and loyalty status into one screen.
The limits are reach and range. The sportsbook works only in New Jersey and has fewer promotions than the big national books, and the casino is in just two states. If you live outside New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Borgata is not an option at all. Even inside them, many players will open both Borgata and BetMGM to collect two sets of welcome offers, which is allowed because they are separate brands.
Borgata suits New Jersey and Pennsylvania casino players, Atlantic City regulars who want online play to count towards MGM Rewards, and poker players who want access to the shared BetMGM network. Sports bettors outside New Jersey should look at the national brands on our US market page.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Fully regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
- Runs on BetMGM technology, one of the most established platforms in US online gambling.
- A large casino library with Borgata-branded exclusives and live dealer tables.
- Online play counts towards MGM Rewards status at MGM resorts across the US.
- Low 5x wagering on the casino deposit match, and wager-free winnings on bonus spins.
- Cash deposits and withdrawals at the Borgata cage in Atlantic City.
What to watch
- Sportsbook available in New Jersey only.
- Casino and poker limited to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Fewer sportsbook promotions and features than BetMGM itself.
- Bank transfers and cheques can take a week or more.
- Table games and live dealer count only 10% to 20% towards casino bonus wagering.
- No cryptocurrency, unlike the offshore books we cover elsewhere on this site.
Ownership, licences and the BetMGM connection
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa opened in Atlantic City in 2003 and has been wholly owned by MGM Resorts since 2016. Its online operations are run by BetMGM, the joint venture that MGM Resorts and Entain each own half of. That means Borgata Online shares BetMGM’s account systems, risk management, casino platform and poker network, while keeping its own brand, offers and exclusive games.
Borgata has deep roots in regulated online gambling. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement issued it the first Atlantic City internet gambling permit on 9 October 2013, and it was part of the soft launch on 21 November 2013 before New Jersey’s online casinos opened to the public on 26 November 2013. Pennsylvania followed later, with Borgata’s casino licensed there under the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
What regulation means for you
Because Borgata is state-licensed, your funds, identity checks, bonus terms and responsible-gambling tools are all subject to state rules, and you can take an unresolved complaint to the Division of Gaming Enforcement in New Jersey or the Gaming Control Board in Pennsylvania. That is a different level of protection from the offshore crypto casinos we review. The trade-off is strict identity verification at sign-up and geolocation on every session.
BetMGM’s position in 2026
BetMGM reported Q2 2026 net revenue of $711 million, up 3% on a year earlier, with online casino revenue up 8% and online sports flat. It said full-year results would land towards the lower end of its guidance and credited momentum from the Borgata brand refresh. BetMGM was due to publish its Q3 update on 13 October 2026, the date of this review.
Where Borgata is available
| Product | New Jersey | Pennsylvania | Elsewhere |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online casino | Yes, since 2013 | Yes, since 2021 | No |
| Online poker | Yes | Yes | No |
| Online sportsbook | Yes | Not in the October 2026 offer terms | No |
| Retail sportsbook | Yes, at the Atlantic City resort | No | No |
You must be 21 or over and physically inside New Jersey or Pennsylvania to play for real money. Geolocation runs each time you log in to play. If you are in another state, the BetMGM brand or another licensed operator on our US market page may serve you instead. Never use a VPN or false details to get around geolocation; regulated operators detect it and can void bets and close accounts.
The July 2026 relaunch
On 3 July 2026 BetMGM relaunched Borgata Online in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, describing it as the largest overhaul since the site first went live. The changes were mostly about usability and loyalty:
- New top navigation tabs and a standard bottom navigation bar.
- A redesigned account hub showing bonuses, playable balance and withdrawable balance separately.
- A Rewards Hub that combines promotions, Borgata Rewards points and MGM Rewards tier status in one place.
- Quicker access to recently played and favourite games.
- A visual refresh that brings Borgata closer to the BetMGM casino design.
BetMGM said the site offered more than 4,000 games, about 250 of them exclusive, and that new Borgata-branded slots, Borgata Gem Strike and Borgata 777 Respin Deluxe, would follow later in 2026. The relaunch was tied to Fourth of July events at the Atlantic City resort, including a claw-machine game for new sign-ups with a chance at a $10,000 casino bonus carrying a 1x playthrough.
How Borgata performs in New Jersey
New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement figures for May 2026 put Borgata’s online gaming revenue at $22.4 million, fourth in the state behind FanDuel ($64.0 million), DraftKings ($47.0 million) and BetMGM ($34.6 million). Statewide, online gaming win reached $259.3 million in August 2026, up 4.4% year on year, while sports wagering revenue fell 25% to $61.4 million. In the same month Borgata was the only Atlantic City casino to grow its in-person gaming revenue.
Welcome offers in October 2026
Borgata runs separate offers for the sportsbook and the casino, and you can usually take only one new-customer offer. Affiliate sites attach their own bonus codes, but the underlying offers reported in October 2026 are the same. Our bonuses hub compares offers across brands.
| Offer | Where | Key terms reported |
|---|---|---|
| Bet $20, Get $100 in bonus bets | Sportsbook, New Jersey | $20 minimum deposit; $20 first bet, win or lose; bonus bets expire after 7 days; stake not returned on bonus bets |
| 100% deposit match up to $500 | Casino, NJ and PA | $10 to $500 deposit; 5x wagering on deposit plus bonus within 14 days; slots 100%, table games 10–20%, live dealer 10% |
| 20 bonus spins per $10, up to 200 | Casino, NJ and PA | Alternative to the match; spins on one named slot; winnings carry no wagering |
| Daily wheel, up to 1,000 spins | Casino, NJ and PA | Log in for eight days after the qualifying deposit to spin; wager-free |
Deposit $500 and take the 100% match, so $1,000 is in play under a 5x requirement on deposit plus bonus: you must wager $1,000 × 5 = $5,000. On slots with a 96% RTP the expected cost of that play is about $200 (4% of $5,000), less than the $500 bonus, so on paper the offer has value. Play blackjack instead, at 10% contribution, and you would need $50,000 of wagers to clear the same requirement. Slots are also high-variance, so many players will lose the balance before finishing. The match is good value only if you planned to play slots anyway.
The sportsbook offer is simpler. Your $20 first bet is a normal cash bet; the $100 in bonus bets arrives whatever the result. Bonus bets pay only the profit, so $100 of bonus bets placed at even money returns about $50 on average before the bookmaker’s margin. Our bonuses explained guide covers both structures in more detail.
MGM Rewards and Borgata Rewards
Borgata Online links to MGM Rewards, the loyalty programme used at MGM Resorts properties including Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan and Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Beau Rivage in Biloxi and the Borgata itself. Online play earns Borgata Rewards points and tier credits towards MGM Rewards status, and since July 2026 both are visible in the same Rewards Hub.
| MGM Rewards tier | Tier credits in a calendar year | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sapphire | Sign-up | Entry level |
| Pearl | 20,000 | Lowered from 25,000 in the programme refresh |
| Gold | 75,000 | Larger resort benefits |
| Platinum | 200,000 | Top published tier |
| Noir | Invitation only | No published threshold |
Hotel stays and dining earn 4 tier credits per dollar. Online casino and sportsbook play earns at different rates by game type, and Borgata does not publish a single table we could verify; check the Rewards Hub to see how your own play is counting. As with any comp scheme, rewards are a small rebate on money you have already wagered. They are worth having if you visit MGM properties, but never worth chasing with extra bets.
If you play at both Borgata Online and BetMGM, both feed the same MGM Rewards account, so tier credits combine. That can make Borgata a sensible second app for MGM regulars in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. The Caesars and Hard Rock Bet reviews explain the equivalent programmes at those resort groups.
Online casino games
The casino is the core of Borgata Online. It carries more than 4,000 titles from major US-licensed studios, about 250 exclusives including Borgata-branded slots such as Borgata 777 Respin, progressive jackpots shared with the BetMGM network, table games, video poker and a live dealer section. The library is broadly similar to BetMGM’s, with Borgata exclusives added on top.
Return-to-player figures in New Jersey and Pennsylvania vary by game, so check the information screen in each title. A slot at 96% and one at 92% look the same on screen but cost very different amounts over time; our RTP guide explains the maths. For wider comparisons, see our casino rankings.
Online poker
Borgata Poker runs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and shares player pools with BetMGM Poker, so you see the same tables and tournaments under a different brand. Rake earns MGM Rewards credits like casino play. Reviews in 2026 note that first withdrawals from poker can be delayed by identity checks, so verify your account early.
Borgata Sportsbook
Borgata Sportsbook is available online in New Jersey and at the retail sportsbook inside the Atlantic City resort. It uses BetMGM’s trading and pricing, so odds and markets closely mirror BetMGM’s. You get the main US leagues, college sports, soccer, tennis, golf and combat sports, with same-game parlays, live betting and cash-out on most major events.
For the 2026 football season BetMGM extended some of its NFL features to Borgata, including first-quarter injury protection on player props and free-to-play games such as a weekly pick’em contest with a shared bonus-bet jackpot. Borgata generally has fewer ongoing promotions than BetMGM, so if you bet regularly in New Jersey, it is worth holding both accounts and comparing.
Sports wagering revenue across New Jersey was down sharply in August 2026, but that reflects bettors’ results and the market as a whole rather than anything specific to Borgata. Prices still matter more than promotions over time; our odds guide shows how to compare margins.
Deposits, withdrawals and payout speed
Borgata is a US dollar operator and does not accept Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Its cashier offers the BetMGM range of methods.
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal time reported in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | Instant, from $10 | 1 to 3 business days |
| Play+ prepaid card | Instant | 1 to 2 business days |
| Online banking / ACH | 1 to 3 days | 3 to 7 business days |
| Debit or credit card | Instant (card issuers may charge fees) | Not the usual withdrawal route |
| Apple Pay | Instant | Depends on the linked method |
| Skrill | Instant (NJ only) | 3 to 5 business days |
| Wire transfer | Varies | 1 to 3 business days, fee applies |
| Cheque by post | Not offered | 7 to 14 business days |
| Cash at the Borgata cage | Instant | Same day, in person |
Withdrawals generally go back to a method you used to deposit, and your first withdrawal will not be processed until identity checks are complete. Some 2026 reviews report bank transfers and cheques taking up to three weeks in practice, so choose PayPal or Play+ if speed matters. Our deposits and withdrawals guide explains what slows payouts down.
Responsible gambling tools
Borgata uses MGM’s GameSense programme, licensed from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, for responsible-gambling information, and offers the account controls required by New Jersey and Pennsylvania: deposit limits, spend and time limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion. Both states also run statewide self-exclusion lists that apply to every licensed operator. Limit reductions apply straight away; increases have a waiting period.
New Jersey is tightening its rules. Its Division of Gaming Enforcement now requires operators to watch for signs of harmful play, and bills introduced in 2026 would stop promotional push notifications and bar promotions to players using responsible-gambling tools. We could not confirm whether any of those bills had passed by October 2026.
- Set a deposit limit before you claim a welcome offer.
- Count bonus wagering as real play: $5,000 of slot spins is still $5,000 at risk over time.
- Do not chase MGM Rewards tiers with extra play; the comps are worth far less than the expected losses.
- Use a cool-off or self-exclusion if gambling stops being fun.
If gambling is causing you harm, call the National Problem Gambling Helpline on 1-800-MY-RESET, run by the National Council on Problem Gambling, free and confidential, 24 hours a day. Our responsible gambling guide and responsible gambling hub list more tools and services.
Player feedback in 2026
We did not find a large, reliable 2026 sample of Borgata-specific customer reviews, so treat the points below as patterns from review sites rather than measurements. Players generally rate the casino library and exclusives highly and like being able to deposit or withdraw cash at the resort. Common complaints concern slow bank transfers and cheques, identity checks that hold up a first withdrawal, and the sportsbook’s narrower promotions compared with BetMGM.
At group level, BetMGM tied with DraftKings and FanDuel for top online casino in BrandSpark’s 2026 Most Trusted Awards, a consumer survey. That reflects the shared platform as much as the Borgata brand.
How Borgata compares with other US brands
| Brand | Main strength | Compared with Borgata |
|---|---|---|
| BetMGM | Same platform, many more states | More promotions and states; same MGM Rewards |
| DraftKings | Live betting and a large casino | National reach; no resort loyalty link |
| FanDuel | Same-game parlays and New Jersey’s top online casino by revenue | Bigger in NJ; different rewards |
| Caesars | Caesars Rewards across 50+ resorts | The main rival for resort-linked loyalty |
| Hard Rock Bet | Unity rewards and a Florida monopoly | Also has an Atlantic City casino brand in NJ |
| BetRivers | Simple loyalty scheme | Available in Pennsylvania for sports |
Our full list of reviews covers the state-licensed books alongside the crypto brands we rate separately, and our coverage pages show which brands serve each market.
