BetRivers is the online brand of Rush Street Interactive, a Chicago-based operator that grew out of the Rivers land-based casinos. Where most US sportsbooks lead with sports and add a casino later, BetRivers does the opposite: online casino made up 72% of its parent company’s revenue in the second quarter of 2026. The sportsbook is solid rather than spectacular, the welcome offer is a simple second-chance bet, and the iRush Rewards programme ties sports, casino and poker together. This review covers BetRivers in October 2026: the states and provinces it serves, what the welcome offer is really worth in your state, how iRush Rewards works, how fast withdrawals are, what responsible-gambling tools apply, and how it compares with the other books in our sportsbook rankings. BetRivers is a state- and province-licensed operator, not a crypto sportsbook.

Key takeaways
  • Where it is live: BetRivers runs real-money sports betting in 15 US states, according to Rush Street Interactive’s July 2026 results, and online casino in Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
  • Canada: BetRivers has operated in Ontario since April 2022 and launched in Alberta on 13 July 2026, when the province opened its regulated online market.
  • Welcome offer: a second-chance bet that refunds a losing first bet as a bonus bet. The maximum depends on the state: up to $500 in seven states, $250 in Colorado and New Jersey, and $100 in Arizona, Iowa, New York, Ohio and West Virginia (October 2026).
  • Loyalty: iRush Rewards earns points on sports, casino and poker, with a Bonus Store for redeeming them. Sources disagree on the number of levels, so check the programme page in your account.
  • Watch for: 2026 reviews praise the payment range but report slow payouts in some cases, a dated bet slip and low app ratings in Ontario.

Our verdict on BetRivers

BetRivers is a dependable, licensed all-rounder with a casino at its heart. Its parent company had the best quarter in its history in the spring of 2026, revenue grew 46% year on year in the second quarter, and it launched in a new Canadian province in July. That is a business investing in its product, not one in retreat.

For sports bettors specifically, the case is more modest. The welcome offer is a plain second-chance bet that is worth much less than its headline, especially in states where the cap is $100. The sportsbook covers mainstream sports and offers daily odds boosts, but reviewers describe the website’s bet slip as cluttered and the design as dated next to FanDuel or Fanatics. Where BetRivers stands out is for people who play casino games and poker as well as betting on sports, because iRush Rewards pools activity across all three.

Who it is for

BetRivers suits bettors in its 15 states who also play online casino or poker and want one rewards programme for all of it. If you only bet on sports and want the deepest markets or the richest welcome offer, compare it with the alternatives below first.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Licensed by state and provincial regulators, with formal complaint routes.
  • Online casino in five US states, more than most rivals, plus poker in four.
  • Simple welcome offer: one second-chance bet with a single play-through.
  • iRush Rewards combines sports, casino and poker activity, with a Bonus Store.
  • Broad payment range, including PayPal, online banking, eCheck and the Play+ prepaid card.
  • Present in both Ontario and Alberta, the two open Canadian markets.

What to watch

  • Welcome offer drops to $100 in five states, including New York and Ohio.
  • Some 2026 users report slow withdrawals that need back-and-forth with support.
  • Website bet slip described as cluttered for complex bets.
  • Ontario apps rated about 3.2 on the App Store and 2.9 on Google Play in August 2026.
  • Not available in large betting states such as Massachusetts, North Carolina or Tennessee.
  • iRush level structure is poorly documented; sources disagree on how many levels exist.

Licensing and safety

BetRivers is not an offshore site. Each US state where it operates licenses Rush Street Interactive through its own gaming regulator, such as the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the Michigan Gaming Control Board and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. In Ontario it is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and contracts with iGaming Ontario; in Alberta it operates under the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission. Rush Street is also a listed company that files quarterly results with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, so its finances and footprint are public.

That licensing matters in practice. Player funds must be kept separate from operating money, games and odds are subject to regulator testing, identity and age checks are compulsory, and you have a formal route to complain if a dispute is not settled. Regulators have fined Rush Street over the years for compliance lapses, generally small penalties for issues such as accepting bets on unapproved events, which is common across US operators and shows the oversight working.

Avoid copycat sites

Fake sites and apps copy well-known sportsbook brands. Download BetRivers only from the official app stores or by typing the address yourself, check that the site shows the regulator for your state, and turn on any extra login security the app offers.

Welcome offer in October 2026

The BetRivers sportsbook offer is a second-chance bet: if your first qualifying bet loses, BetRivers refunds the stake as a single bonus bet, up to the cap for your state. If the first bet wins, you keep the winnings and get no bonus. Affiliate sites list different promo codes, but they describe the same structure.

Sportsbook Review, verified 13 October 2026. Delaware has its own offers through the Delaware Lottery platform. Ontario and Alberta offers differ again.
Maximum refundStates
Up to $500Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia
Up to $250Colorado, New Jersey
Up to $100Arizona, Iowa, New York, Ohio, West Virginia

The key terms, per Sportsbook Review: a $10 minimum deposit, no odds restriction on the qualifying bet, and a bonus bet that must be used once at odds of -200 or longer within 30 days. Bonus bet stakes are not returned, so only the winnings become cash.

Worked example: what a $500 second-chance bet is worth

Say you place a $500 first bet at -110 in Pennsylvania. With a typical margin of about 4.5%, your expected loss on it is about $22. Roughly half the time it loses and you get a $500 bonus bet. Used at around even money, a $500 bonus bet returns about $240 in expectation, because you keep only the winnings. Half of $240 is about $120, so the offer is worth roughly $120 minus the $22 expected loss, or about $100. In a $100 state the same maths gives about $20. A second-chance bet is a modest safety net, not $500 of value.

Do not raise your first bet just to use the full cap. Stake what you would have bet anyway. Our bonuses hub and bonuses explained guide show how to compare bonus bets, lossback and deposit matches.

BetRivers Casino offers

Casino offers are separate. In Michigan, New Jersey and West Virginia, Sportsbook Review lists a 24-hour lossback of up to $500 in casino bonus funds plus 500 bonus spins, with the refund credited within 72 hours and wagered once within 30 days. Pennsylvania has a deposit match of up to $250 instead. A 1x play-through is low by US standards and makes the lossback easier to clear than many casino bonuses.

iRush Rewards loyalty programme

iRush Rewards is BetRivers’ loyalty scheme, and it is one of the better-regarded in the US because one programme covers sports betting, casino and poker. You earn two kinds of points as you play: loyalty or tier points, which move you up the levels, and Bonus Store points, which you spend.

BetRivers does not publish a full rate card for every product; thresholds and earn rates vary by game type and state.
FeatureHow it works (2026 sources)
StructureTen levels (0 to 9) grouped into Gold, Platinum and Black tiers, per Pokerfuse (January 2026); other guides count 11 or more
EarningPoints on real-money sports bets, casino play and poker rake; poker earns 4 tier points and 15 Bonus Store points per $1 of rake
Bonus StoreRedeem points for sports, casino and poker bonuses
StatusKept for six months once reached
Higher-level perksVIP promotions, faster withdrawals, birthday gifts and prize draws

Poker players had an extra booster in early 2026, the Rakeback Revolution promotion in Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia, which at least doubled Bonus Store points for those paying $5 or more a week in rake. It ran through March 2026.

Keep the rewards in proportion

Loyalty points are a small share of what you stake. Moving up iRush levels by betting more raises your expected losses far faster than the extra rewards, so treat the programme as a rebate on play you would do anyway.

Sportsbook markets and features

BetRivers covers the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, soccer, tennis, golf, MMA and more, with live betting, same-game parlays, cash-out and daily odds boosts. In 2026 reviews, the market range is judged adequate for mainstream bettors but thinner on niche props than the biggest books, and the website bet slip is described as harder to use for complex bets.

Odds boosts are the main recurring sportsbook promotion. As with any boost, check the price against other books before you treat it as value. Our sports betting odds guide explains how to convert American odds and spot a book’s margin.

Casino and poker

The casino is the core of the business, with a large slot library, table games, live dealer games and progressive jackpots in the five casino states. BetRivers Poker runs a shared player pool across Delaware, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. If you play online slots, our RTP guide explains why the return-to-player figure matters.

Payments and withdrawal speed

BetRivers accepts US dollars only and does not take crypto. Its banking list is one of the broadest in the US market.

Sportsbook Review says BetRivers typically processes withdrawal requests within 24 hours, after which the time depends on the method: PayPal and Play+ are usually fastest, bank transfers can take a few business days and posted checks longest. The company markets fast payouts, but Gambling.com’s 2026 review notes that user feedback still reports slow payouts and a withdrawal process that sometimes needs repeated contact with support. Ontario reviews put withdrawals at roughly one to two days.

  • Complete identity verification at sign-up; it is a legal requirement in every BetRivers state.
  • Withdraw to a method in your own name, ideally one you deposited with.
  • Bonus bets and Bonus Store credits cannot be withdrawn; only winnings become cash.
  • Keep records: US gambling winnings are taxable income.

Responsible gambling tools

As a licensed operator, BetRivers must offer the protections each state and provincial regulator requires. These include deposit limits, wager and time limits, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion from your account settings, plus access to state self-exclusion programmes that bar you from every licensed operator in that state. The exact tools and minimum periods vary by jurisdiction, so check the responsible gaming section of your account.

  • Set a deposit limit before you claim any offer.
  • Use the time-limit or cooling-off tools if sessions run longer than planned.
  • Do not chase iRush levels; the rewards never cover the extra expected loss.
  • In the US, call the National Council on Problem Gambling on 1-800-MY-RESET for free, confidential help. In Ontario and Alberta, ConnexOntario and the Alberta Health Services addiction helpline offer free support.

BetRivers and Rush Street news in 2026

  • February 2026: BetRivers opened Alberta pre-registration and sponsored CBC/Radio-Canada’s coverage of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics as its only sports betting and online gaming partner.
  • April 2026: Rush Street reported record first-quarter revenue of about $370 million.
  • June 2026: entities linked to Rush Street were reported to have applied to the CFTC for prediction-market licences; no product launch had been announced when we checked.
  • 13 July 2026: BetRivers launched in Alberta, with an exclusive partnership with Gateway Casinos covering two Edmonton venues.
  • 29 July 2026: second-quarter revenue reached $393.8 million, up 46%, with about 949,000 monthly active users. Rush Street raised its full-year revenue guidance to $1.56 billion to $1.60 billion.

The numbers show a company growing quickly, driven mainly by online casino and by Latin America, where most of its monthly users are. For sports bettors that means BetRivers is stable and investing, but its priorities lean towards the casino side.

Player feedback in 2026

Feedback on BetRivers is mixed. Gambling.com’s 2026 US review praises the payment range and scores customer support well, but reports app-store complaints about the withdrawal process, clunky navigation and app speed. In Ontario, the BetRivers apps averaged about 3.2 out of 5 on the App Store and 2.9 on Google Play in August 2026, noticeably lower than leading rivals. Casino players tend to rate the low play-through on bonuses and the iRush programme more highly than sports bettors rate the sportsbook.

If a dispute with BetRivers is not resolved by support, you can complain to the regulator in your state or province. That route is one of the main advantages of a licensed book over an offshore site.
