Key takeaways
  • There are three formats: chat bots, mini apps that open a full casino inside Telegram, and normal casinos that only use Telegram for promotions and support.
  • Toncoin was renamed Gram (GRAM) on 15 June 2026. Nothing had to be swapped, so any message asking you to “migrate” your TON is a scam.
  • Telegram’s developer terms require crypto features in mini apps to run only on TON, and Telegram Stars cannot be withdrawn, so they are not a way to cash out winnings.
  • Licensing, restricted countries and withdrawal rules matter exactly as much as at any other casino. The chat interface does not change the law where you live.
  • Impersonation and account takeover are the biggest Telegram-specific risks. Only use bot links from the casino’s official website and turn on two-step verification.

What a Telegram casino is

A Telegram casino is an online casino you reach through the Telegram messaging app. Instead of visiting a website and creating an account with an email address and password, you start a bot or open a mini app, and your Telegram account becomes your casino login.

The appeal is speed. There is nothing to install beyond Telegram, sign-up takes seconds, and crypto deposits can come from a wallet that already lives inside the app. Notifications, promotions and support all arrive in the same place as your messages.

Underneath, though, it is still a casino. The operator holds your balance, sets the terms, chooses the games and decides whether to pay. Everything in our guide to how Bitcoin casinos work applies here too. The Telegram layer adds convenience and a few extra risks, but it does not add any protection.

Bots, mini apps and Telegram-connected casinos

Many operators run more than one format with the same account.
FormatHow you playWhat to expect
Casino botButtons and commands inside a chatSimple games such as dice and slot-style draws; few features and often little oversight
Mini appA full casino interface that opens inside TelegramSlots, originals and sometimes live dealers, with a cashier and account settings
Telegram-connected casinoOn the casino’s own website or appTelegram is used for promotions, alerts, community and support only

Mini apps are where most of the growth has been. They look and behave like a mobile casino site but launch from a Telegram link, so you skip the usual registration form. Several casinos offer both a mini app and a normal website on the same account, which is useful if you want to check your history or withdraw from a desktop browser.

Pure chat bots are the most basic format. Some are run by established operators; many are not. Treat a bot with no website, no licence and no published terms as unregulated, whatever its channel says about itself.

How a Telegram casino works behind the scenes

A mini app is a web page that Telegram opens in a built-in browser window. When you launch it, Telegram passes the app basic profile data such as your user ID, name, username and language, signed so the operator can confirm the request came from your account. That is why you are logged in without a password.

  • Account. Your casino account is tied to your Telegram user ID. Lose access to Telegram and you may lose easy access to your balance, so check whether the casino also lets you add an email or a website login.
  • Cashier. Deposits go to an address the casino controls, or through a wallet you connect with TON Connect. Your balance is then held by the casino, as at any custodial crypto casino.
  • Games. Larger operators license slots and live tables from known studios; smaller ones rely on in-house originals. Originals should be provably fair, meaning you can verify each result with the server seed, client seed and nonce.
  • Support. Usually a support bot or live chat inside Telegram. Make sure the support account is linked from the casino’s website, because fake “support” accounts are common.

None of this is regulated by Telegram. Telegram’s developer terms put responsibility for complying with local law on the developer, and the platform does not check casino licences, game fairness or payouts.

Telegram’s rules for mini apps: TON only and Stars

Two sets of Telegram rules shape how casino mini apps handle money, and both have been tightened since 2025.

TON is the only blockchain allowed in mini apps

Telegram’s Bot Developer Terms say mini apps with crypto features must be based exclusively on TON. Tokens and other blockchain assets must be issued on TON, wallets can only be connected through the TON Connect SDK, and mini apps may not promote crypto assets from other chains. Existing mini apps had to comply by 1 February 2025 and finish moving to TON by 21 February 2025. Telegram’s blockchain guidelines allow one notable exception: connecting a Bitcoin wallet to bridge BTC onto TON.

In practice this is why Telegram casinos lean so heavily on Gram (formerly Toncoin) and USDT on TON. Some operators still accept Bitcoin, Ethereum or USDT on TRON through their websites or deposit addresses, so read each cashier rather than assuming. Plain bots without a mini app are outside these specific rules.

Telegram Stars are not casino chips

Telegram Stars are Telegram’s in-app currency for digital goods. The developer terms require digital goods and services sold in bots and mini apps to be paid for in Stars, and the Stars terms say Stars may not be sold, withdrawn or transferred outside the uses Telegram lists. All Stars purchases are final.

Stars cannot be cashed out

Because Stars cannot be withdrawn, any bot that lets you “bet” Stars and promises cash prizes is working outside the purpose Telegram set for them. Real-money Telegram casinos run on crypto. Never buy Stars expecting to cash them out later.

From TON to Gram: the 2026 rename

The Open Network’s native coin was called Toncoin (TON) from 2020 until mid-2026. In May 2026 Telegram took over the main stewardship role from the TON Foundation, and on 1 June Pavel Durov proposed renaming the coin Gram, the name used in Telegram’s original 2018 white paper. A governance vote passed with about 81% support, and the rename took effect on 15 June 2026.

  • Only the name, ticker and logo changed. The ticker went from TON to GRAM. TON now refers to the blockchain itself.
  • No action was needed. There was no swap, bridge, claim or migration. Balances carried over one-for-one.
  • Labels still vary. Some casino cashiers, wallets and exchanges updated quickly; others still show TON or Toncoin for the same coin. Check the network and address format, not just the name.
Fake migration offers

Any message, bot or website asking you to “migrate”, “swap” or “claim” Gram for your old TON is a scam. Never connect a wallet or share a recovery phrase in response to one.

The coin’s price has also moved a lot. Reporting in June 2026 put it roughly 75% below its June 2024 high. If you keep a casino balance in Gram rather than a stablecoin, your balance moves with the market as well as with your bets. Our USDT casino guide explains why many players prefer a dollar-stable balance.

Wallets inside Telegram in 2026

There are now three main ways to hold crypto for a Telegram casino, and the difference that matters is who holds the keys.

Status as reported in 2026. Availability depends on your country and Telegram version.
WalletWho holds the keysWhat to know
Wallet in Telegram (the @wallet bot)Third-party provider, by defaultPartly custodial; the provider can apply its own checks and country restrictions, and is not available everywhere
Gram Wallet (Telegram’s own)YouAnnounced in July 2026; a limited rollout began from late August, with wider access still being added in October
External TON wallets (e.g. Tonkeeper, MyTonWallet)YouConnect to mini apps through TON Connect; you keep the recovery phrase

A custodial wallet is convenient, but the provider can freeze or restrict it, and it may not allow transfers to gambling services in your country. A non-custodial wallet gives you full control, which also means nobody can recover it for you if you lose access. Reporting on the new Gram Wallet says it uses split-key recovery tied to your Telegram account and email instead of a seed phrase, which makes the security of both accounts important.

Whichever wallet you use, keep only what you plan to play with in a wallet connected to a casino, and move larger holdings to separate storage.

Depositing and withdrawing step by step

  1. Open the casino from the link on its official website, not from a forwarded message or group.
  2. Go to the cashier and choose the coin and network, for example Gram on TON or USDT on TON.
  3. Copy the deposit address, and the memo or comment if one is shown. Some TON deposits are credited using the comment, and sending without it can delay or lose the deposit.
  4. Send a small test amount first and wait for it to appear in your balance.
  5. Send the rest, then keep the transaction hash until the deposit is credited.
  6. To withdraw, paste an address on the same network that you control. Check the minimum withdrawal, any fee, and whether the first withdrawal triggers identity checks.
Match the network

Gram on TON, USDT on TON and USDT on TRON are different assets or networks. TON addresses usually start with UQ or EQ; TRON addresses start with T. Always match the network shown next to the deposit address. Our crypto gambling walkthrough covers the process in more detail.

TON transfers normally settle within seconds and cost little. Payout speed is a different question: it depends on the casino’s own review process, not the blockchain. Our guide to instant-withdrawal crypto casinos explains what slows payouts down, and our deposits and withdrawals guide covers limits and fees.

Telegram casinos we review

Three operators in our database are built around Telegram. The details below come from 2026 reviews and our own data, and several points disagree between sources, so treat them as a starting point and check the casino’s current terms.

Sources: operator listings and 2026 third-party reviews. Bonus figures change often.
CasinoLicence reported in 2026Points to check
TG.CasinoCuraçao, operated by MIBS N.V. (per 2026 reviews)Welcome offer reported as 200% up to 10 ETH; weekly cashback on play with its own TGC token, a volatile asset

Whale.ioCheck on the casino’s siteTelegram-native with fast deposits in our data; confirm coins and networks in the cashier

A 2026 review of JetTon reported that the licence register lists only specific domains, and warned of unlicensed mirror sites using the brand. That is a useful habit for any Telegram casino: compare the domain and bot username against the licence record before you deposit.

If you are happy to play on a normal website, our crypto casino rankings and Stake alternatives guide cover larger operators, many of which also run Telegram channels for promotions.

KYC and privacy

Signing up through Telegram usually means no documents at the start, which is part of the appeal. But the casino can see your Telegram profile details, and like other no-KYC crypto casinos, most reserve the right to ask for ID on large withdrawals or during security checks.

Example: tiered checks at withdrawal

A 2026 review of JetTon Games described three verification steps: basic personal details for any withdrawal, photo ID above $2,000, and evidence of source of wealth above $5,000. If you plan to withdraw $3,000, expect to provide ID at that casino even though sign-up needed none.

Read the verification section of the terms before you deposit, not after you win. If a casino can ask for documents, assume it will when the amount is large enough.

Licensing and legality

A Telegram casino is still an online casino. Legitimate operators hold a licence, publish terms and a restricted-country list, and explain their withdrawal rules. Most hold offshore licences such as Curaçao or Anjouan. Our licence guide explains what those cover and how to check them on the regulator’s register.

Using Telegram does not change whether online gambling is legal where you live. If your country is on the casino’s restricted list, the terms apply in the mini app just as they do on the website, and winnings can be withheld. Some recent examples:

  • Brazil banned fixed-odds betting and online casino games, including offers from operators abroad, under a provisional measure of 25 September 2026, and sites went offline from 6 October 2026. Challenges are pending. See our Brazil page.
  • Great Britain requires a Gambling Commission licence to offer gambling to British players. Offshore Telegram casinos are not licensed there, and most list the UK as restricted. See our UK page.
  • The United States is restricted by almost every offshore crypto casino. See our US page.

Our coverage page lists the markets we track. We never suggest using a VPN or false details to get around a restriction: it breaks the casino’s terms and is the most common reason winnings are confiscated.

Risks specific to Telegram

Telegram’s openness is also its weakness. Anyone can create a bot or channel with any name and logo, and your casino balance is only as safe as your Telegram account.

  • Impersonation. Fake bots and channels copy a real casino’s name with a slightly different username. Compare usernames character by character with the link on the official website.
  • Account takeover. If someone gets into your Telegram account through a SIM swap or a phishing login code, they may also get into your casino. Turn on two-step verification in Telegram’s privacy settings and never share login codes.
  • Fake support and “VIP managers”. Real casinos rarely open conversations with you. Never share a recovery phrase or send funds to an address given in a private message.
  • Signal sellers and “hacked” games. No one can predict casino results. Groups selling crash or mines predictions are scams.
  • Fee-to-withdraw demands. Paying a “tax” or “unlock fee” to release your own winnings is a classic advance-fee scam.
  • Casino tokens. Rewards paid in an operator’s own token can lose value quickly, and selling them may be hard.
Find the bot from the website, not the other way round

If you received a link to a casino bot from a stranger, a group or a direct message, do not use it. Go to the casino’s website, find its official Telegram link there, and compare usernames character by character.

Pros and cons of Telegram casinos

ProsCons
Sign-up in seconds with no password to manageYour casino is only as secure as your Telegram account
Fast, cheap deposits on TONFewer coins and networks inside mini apps because of the TON-only rule
Works on any phone with Telegram installedCopycat bots and fake support accounts are common
Often a mini app and a website on one accountMostly offshore licences with limited player protection

How to choose a Telegram casino

  1. Start from the casino’s official website and check a licence you can verify on the regulator’s register, including the domains it covers.
  2. Confirm your country is not on the restricted list.
  3. Read the withdrawal limits, fees and which coins and networks are paid out.
  4. Read the KYC section so you know when documents will be requested.
  5. Check the games come from known studios or are provably fair originals.
  6. Read the bonus terms before opting in. Our casino bonus guide shows how to value an offer, and our rakeback guide covers ongoing rewards.
  7. Make a small deposit and a small withdrawal before playing with more.
  8. Set deposit limits in the casino’s account settings on day one.

Our bonuses page lists current offers from the operators we review, including the Telegram brands above.

Playing responsibly in a chat app

A casino that lives next to your messages is always one tap away, and promotional notifications can pull you back in. Mute the casino’s channel and bot if you find yourself opening them more than you intended, and archive the chat when you are taking a break.

Treat gambling as paid entertainment with a fixed budget, not a way to make money. Use the casino’s deposit limits and cooling-off tools, and remember that national self-exclusion schemes do not cover offshore Telegram casinos. Our responsible gambling guide lists tools that do work, including blocking software and bank gambling blocks, and our responsible gambling hub has support contacts.
